Why am I not a photographer?

Why should I be known as a photographer?
Can’t I just be myself?
Couldn’t I call myself someone with a camera fad?
Do I have to ask if this question’s really important?
Bertrand Russell wrote a book on why he was not a christian.
Marx wrote copiously on socialism but claimed he was not a marxist.
Anyone ever written ‘Why I am not a photographer?’
I suppose one can be a photographer, and not a photographer…
“To be or not to be, that is the question” said Shakespeare.
“One must throw the ladder away” says Wittgenstein.
Okay, I have thrown the ladder away – I am NOT a photographer 🙂
Except when I am taking photographs.

  1. Very well said. So glad I can take photos for hobby, not a living. If people ask me, “Are you a photographer?”
I reply, “Nope, I am taking photos of boring stuff that nobody will ever look at.”
