Counting Out Time, while awaiting the Doktor, I created this special opus for The Shed……
Twas was a festival of red among seas of grey, simply they should have not got rid of IT…..
One: The Shed comes to the South Bank
The Shed lies down on South Bank
The Shed arrives, bright red with IT’s four ‘Battersea’ chimneys…
Is IT an upturned table, or is IT some sort of fable?
Is IT MOMI’s second coming? One to delight thousands of movie fans?
(The near completed Shed – from Building Design)
Waterloo melody of 2013
Sharps & flats enhanced in red, that’s IT!
A success over that sixties’ brutalism…
Who loves that concrete? Not me!
Love those towers of red. IT’s a triumphalism!
(From Block Design)
The Grand Parade of Media Reports
IT’s staying till 2017 say the papers!
Oh that bright spot in a sea of drab greys 🙂
IT means things are going to be so much better,
Days & days of glorious red to shy away the greys.

Two: The Shed dies down on South Bank
(The death of the Red Shed – Londonist)
Silent Sorrow in empty posts
Came summer of 2016. The Shed was stripped naked.
Empty steel posts stood against cloudy skies.
The cutter’s torch soon arrives. Even the Red Skeleton’s no more.
“We’re open, come on in” say the NT. In where? There’s nothing there!
Was IT all a dream? Was there no Red Shed on the South Bank?
The Shed dies down on South Bank
They’ve taken IT away! The Shed’s gone… died.
IT’s died, died, died, died…
Gone to the scrapyard in the sky.
Riding the Scene
Coming over Waterloo Bridge,
Atop a Bright Red London Bus,
There’s something amiss over there…
Must dash down those steps, investigate….
Where’s The Shed? IT’s gone, and why?
Gone completely, razed to the ground.
They should have kept IT!
In the Thames
Moving down the Thames,
The Shed ‘s drifting out of sight,
It’s only at the cutter’s arc,
You realise IT was so bright.
Aimlessly afloat on the Thames,
IT’s drifting right out of sight,
Did IT sail past the Cutty Sark?
No more does IT burn so bright.
Bright as red. Four chimneys. Ninety degree angles.
IT was a theatre on London’s riverside.
Not round & white like the Globe with it’s crazy wood angles.
Like a lamb IT’s coat was thrown to one side.
The light that was IT finally died down on the South Bank….
No criticism of any sort is inferred.
It’s a blog post intended as a work of art 🙂
Probably awful but someone out there must like it!
Please dont criticise, I have autism – you wont understand.
My Motto: Dont send lambs lying down anywhere to slaughter.
