King’s Cross – alight here for Regent’s Park?
The ‘Park’ can be just seen underneath the Canal stickers
That is what someone had in mind when they designed the new King’s Cross tube station signs!
Despite this work being completed in 2009 I never noticed this until I took a close look at one of the stickers the other day.
Regent’s Canal sign – to all appearances looks quite normal – no mistakes.
Certainly all the signs in the station indicate the route to the Regent’s Canal. A handful of these on the Victoria Line platforms have stickers over the ‘canal’ bit. Close examination of these reveal they were originally printed to say ‘Regent’s Park.’

Another view clearly showing the ‘Park’ legend
Clearly the designers at TfL had thought that Regent’s Park was nearby! 🙂

No doubt the Victoria Line platforms were the first to be upgraded with new signs denoting the other tube lines, the main line termini and the ‘park’ – the mistake being discovered once they had been delivered to the station and stickers were hurriedly printed to correct the error. 🙂
